IVY LYNN BOURGEAULT, PhD. is a Professor in the Health Sciences Program at the University of Ottawa. She was a Canada Research Chair in Comparative Health Labour Policy at McMaster University from 2004 to 2008. She received her PhD in Community Health at the University of Toronto where she examined the integration of midwifery into the Ontario health care system. Ivy has published widely in national and international journals and edited volumes on midwifery and maternity care, health professions and health policy (with a focus on nursing and medicine), complementary and alternative medicine, and rural women's health. She is currently examining the policy context and experiences of internationally educated health care providers in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Australia with funds recently secured from the CIHR (2006-10) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (2006-2009)..
