RUTA VALAITIS, RN, PhD is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and the Director of Learning Technology for the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster Univeristy. She is also a clinical consultant with the City of Hamilton, Public Health Department, Public Health Research and Development Program (PHRED). She is currently a member on: the CASN taskforce on public health nursing education, the CNA Nursing Portal Project’s sub-group on Evidence-based Practice, and the MoHLTC’s E-Health Taskforce on Public Health. Research interests include the use of e-health and e-learning technologies by public health practitioners and health sciences students.
